5 Autumn Lipsticks

So one of our favourite things about Autumn is the classic dark lip which is key to any Autumn look you're going for this year. We picked up some high street lip colours and here is our little review of 5 Autumn lipsticks!

1. Maybelline Color Drama in Berry Much // Superdrug £4.99
These new lip pencils from Maybelline are amazing, they are super easy to apply, last a long time and the colour is beautiful.

2. Maybelline Super Stay 14hr Lipstick in Always Plum // Superdrug £6.99
Another one our favourites, not only does this smell amazing but one of the main things that Maybelline is known for is having lip products that last, and this one does! The colour is also so lovely!

3. Lipstick in The Damned // Topshop £8
In the bullet this lipstick looks like a dark purple colour but then when you put it on it comes off as a dark pink, it's still a lovely colour but is nothing like what is shown in the packaging. This lipstick is the most moisturising out of all of them and the colour isn't as dramatic. But it's still a great lipstick and if you're looking for something a bit more subtle this Autumn then this could be what you're looking for.

4. Matte Lip Bullet in More Than A Woman // Topshop £8
These claim to be Matte but unfortunately they weren't they had a little bit of a sheen to them. Out of the two Lip Bullets "More Than A Woman" was our favourite as it was the darker shade. The colour payoff for both is really good however the longevity of them is poor.

5. Matte Lip Bullet in Get Me Bodied // Topshop £8
As said above the colours are great but a little disappointing.

October Favourites

Here's what I've been loving in October, it's a little bit of everything from skin care to tv shows and even my favourite blogger of the month! What are your favourites this month?

This is a fab serum for the transition from summer to autumn/winter, where your skin will need more hydration. I've been wearing this serum under my daily moisturiser in the morning after cleansing, it sits well under makeup and it's perfect for all skin types!

This again is another fab serum but for night time, as it's a night time serum it's a bit thicker in consistency but sinks in to the skin just the same as the day serum so it doesn't leave a film on the surface of the face. Its said that it's never too early to start using anti ageing skincare and this one is a perfect one as it's used over night and your skin feels plumper and brighter in the morning.

If you're afraid of the conventional fake tanning products and methods and you're looking for something simple but effective, these Dove body moisturisers with a gradual tanner built in will be perfect for you. I apply this at night after exfoliating because it's fairly tacky on the skin and it wouldn't be comfortable to wear under clothes in the day, also it doesn't stain sheets which is a bonus. This products comes in Fair to Medium and Medium to Dark, I use Medium to Dark.

Out of all the tinted moisturisers I've tried, this one is the best. I feel that you still get full coverage but it's not as heavy as a full coverage foundation. This product comes in a massive range of colours and a range for different skin types, so you can find the right product for you.

5. Laura Mercier Blush in Peach Whisper
As it's now coming to Winter you want to get the look of flushed cheeks without having to bare the cold. This blush colour warms the skin up and finishes any makeup look.

6. Dark lips
Don't need to write much for this as this Autumn trend speaks for itself. All we will say is look out for our Dark Lip blog post coming soon!

7. Topshop Stretchy Slouch cardigans
These cardigans go with everything from shirts, dresses, jeans, skirts and more. They come in a range of colours and go perfect alone or under your winter coat for added layering.

8. Revenge
So season 4 of revenge started this month and I can't get enough. Its quite a complicated story if you don't know it, but to summarise, a woman comes back to the Hampton's where she was separated from her father at a young age as he was framed for a crime he didn't commit to get revenge on the all the people that were involved in setting him up. Its the best, you should watch it!

As its come into Autumn/Winter all the shops have been getting all their winter stock in and summer crap out (no offence if you like summer). Autumn/Winter are my favourite seasons for fashion and Topshop always deliver with their collection.

Being new to the blogging scene it's been good to look at other blogs for inspiration and I've been loving Vivianna, whether it's a makeup, fashion or lifestyle post I'm always on her page.

Broken Doll Halloween Makeup

Apart from eating my weight in sweets every year I can't get enough of Halloween makeup. Every year though I've always been the one who puts in little to no effort, in a costume that takes five minutes to make up. However, I swore this year would be different! After watching hours of tutorials online I wanted to do one that would mean I wouldn't have to go and buy face paint that I will never use again, also something that was simple enough to recreate. After watching one of my favourite youtubers madeyewlook i found her cracked doll look which was inspired by the video game Alice Madness Returns.. which I love!! So I gave it a go, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, was super easy but it gives such a good effect, hope you guys give it a go too!

Halloween Cupcakes

It's one of the best times of the year, the time when you can wear ridiculous outfits and makeup without a second thought and you can have a horror movie marathon that last longer than a week without anyone thinking you have some problems.. anyway, another amazing part of Halloween is being able to eat your weight in sweets and treats. So just for you at this spooky time of the year we have some delicious cupcakes, and trust us we've eaten them all in a couple of hours.

Ingredients

125g // Plain flour
25g // Cocoa powder
1½ tsp // Baking powder
150g // Caster sugar
50g // Butter (softened at room temperature)
1 // Free-range egg
8 tbsp // Milk

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C and line a muffin tray with 9 paper cases
  2. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder into a bowl
  3. Add the sugar and butter, then beat the mixture together until well combined
  4. Whisk in the egg and milk until the mixture is thick and smooth
  5. Optional // if you're feeling extra naughty then add in chocolate chips and white chocolate buttons to each cupcake.. go on, you know you want to!
  6. Divide the mixture between the paper cases and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until if you insert a skewer it comes out clean. Then set them aside to cool on a wire rack!
Next is the fun part where you can go crazy, we decided to just use icing sugar and then alternate with each cupcake by doing black and white. Then we decorated and added all sorts of Halloween goodies that you can pick up at any store. If you're feeling creative you can draw monsters on your cakes or take the easy route and get edible stickers and the job is done for you! Get creative and enjoy!
